Huge Group signs up MTN to supply fixed wireless corporate capacity

Huge Group said that it has partnered with MTN South Africa to provide more GSM voice services to its subsidiary companies, Techcentral reported. This follows Huge Group's victory in a court case with current partner Cell C. Huge Group CEO James Herbst told TechCentral that it means to continue to do business with Cell C, but that a dual supplier relationship is always better than a single supplier.

MTN Business in South Africa is offering software-defined networking in a wide area network (SD-WAN) to enterprise customers. MTN said SD-WAN was developed to address network problems and to enable businesses to run more efficiently. It can combine connectivity services, including multiprotocol label switching (MPLS), broadband or wireless LTE, to connect users securely to relevant applications on their networks.

MTN unveils 5G technology in Nigeria

MTN Nigeria PLC (MTN) has announced that Nigeria has become the first country in West Africa to try 5G technology and applications. This is believed to be the result of a strong collaboration between the Ministry of Communications Technology and Digital Economy, the Nigerian Communications Commission, MTN and Huawei (Abuja), ZTE (Calabar) and Ericsson (Lagos.) This immersive demo and experience will travel across three Nigerian cities to showcase the capabilities of 5G and its potential to enable economic growth, and social inclusion.
